How to Fundraise

Over the years, Run for Autism 5K has grown into one of our region's most fun, most successful, most well-attended, races. Two things make it so successful, year after year. One is the great spirit of community on display, the other is that it is a fundraiser for a great cause. The Virginia Institute of Autism provides life-changing services to families challenged by autism. Our work helps make Charlottesville a more humane, more inclusive place to live.

By participating in the Run for Autism, YOU are a part of that mission. You help us make this event successful year after year. By recruiting friends, family, neighbors and co-workers, you will raise awareness and vital funds to help people facing the challenges of autism. Your commitment is inspiring. Thank YOU for all that you do!

Here are some tips and tools that will help make your participation in the race a fun experience for you, and a benefit to the families we serve.

First of all -- remember that there is FUN in FUNdraiser. Some people can be daunted by the prospect of asking others to make a contribution. But never fear! -- This site has some great tools and resources to make it easier to ask friends and family to join you.

Fundraising for the race is as simple as 1 - 2 - 3!

1. Sign up for the Run for Autism 5K.
2. Update your fundraising page with pictures, posts, and inspiring messages to get others excited!
3. Recruit other runners to join your team and SHARE your fundraising page.

VIA will periodically send social media posts you can share and tips to help you reach your fundraising goal!

Here is some information you can share about VIA and our mission:
