Details

Act as Master of Ceremonies for event. Announce Sponsor PSA's, interview sponsors, make public safety announcements, race countdown, contest information, awards, etc.

Course Cheerleaders High Priority

Details

Cheer on participants as they run the course and as they cross the finish line. One designated cheerleader must record the bib numbers of the participants that have the first place , second place, and third place dogs (and report back to the Contest/Raffles volunteers so that these dogs can receive their first, second, and third place awards!)

Answer any questions that they may have and assist with any issues that arise. May help with tasks as needed

SET UP PETPROMISE BOOTH Medium Priority

Details

Set up the PetPromise booth using three tables.
Organize with a focus on PetPromise marketing and promotional materials in an organized, neat and professional manner. Include sign up sheets for potential volunteers or donors, cards, pamphlets, pictures of program adoptable pets, signs, donation jar, etc. Other tables may be set up with merchandise (in categories and neatly displayed) of prior Rescue Run t-shirts, quality collars, leashes, harnesses, dog jackets, sweaters, toys, cat items, etc. Display should look orderly and professional. Use DipJar for items for sale.

FILL POOLS & BUCKETS High Priority

Fill wading pools and buckets (distribute around park in areas as designated on site map) with additional buckets being placed on course @ every 20 feet

TRASH & RECYCLE TEAM Medium Priority

Details

Set up 65 gallon trash and recycled cardboard boxes and line with plastic garbage bags around the event site (@30+ boxes) for trash disposal and recycling.

VOLUNTEER/INFORMATION BOOTH High Priority

Details

Work the Information Table. Check in Volunteers and direct them to the location of their assigned task. Check in Sponsors and Vendors and direct them to their assigned booths (based onsite map) Answer questions of participants, sponsors, and vendors.

ASSIST FOSTERS WITH DOGS OR CATS AT PETPROMSIE BOOTH Medium Priority

Details

Help with holding PetPromis Foster dogs at/around PetPromise booth and monitoring PetPromsie foster kittens for signs of stress while keeping an eye on the crowd for potentially unfriendly dogs or children approaching dogs without asking. People experienced with dog behavior and kitten/cat behavior needed. Physical exertion does depend on the size of dogs.

STAFF PETPROMISE BOOTH High Priority

Details

Must understand PetPromise and IT history, its core mission and beliefs, the Programs it offers, the adoption process, what makes it different from other rescues, about our sanctuary campaign and be familiar with pets in the program, enjoy talking with people, selling items. Should understand PetPromise completely to sit at this table. Additional volunteers may sit at the table to help with merchandise sales but should defer to long-term PetPromise volunteers to answer questions and talk about PetPromise and its mission.

STAFF PETPROMISE SOCIAL MEDIA PHOTO BOOTH Medium Priority

Collect $5 Donations, Take photos of participants in frame and upload real time to Facebook/Insta. Must have knowledge and good understanding for Instagram posting and tagging ,etc.

HELP WITH CONTESTS/PASSPORT SIGN UP Medium Priority

Details

Run Early-Bird Raffles (8-9AM). Register participants for contests, explain contests, distribute PetPromise Passports and explain the rules. Collect completed passports. Coordinate with Master of Ceremony for announcement of raffle and prize winners.

WATER - POOLS & BUCKETS on site High Priority

Photographer Medium Priority

Details

Take candid photos of race, participants, festival activities, large crowds, people and pets, candid shots with an eye for potential future marketing pieces for the PetPromise Rescue Run.

FLOATER High Priority

Details

Floater is a volunteer that may be assigned to assist in any role where assistance is needed most. Floater must be flexible and able to handle change in plans and able to deal with varying personality types.

Take videos of the race including start of the race and show the crowds of people and pets running, activities at the site, contests, and fun clips of the Rescue Run that we can use in future marketing of the event.

SANITATION AFTER RACE High Priority

Walk the park after the take down and clean up doggie doo, also skimming city trash cans which are technically not to be used for this event.

TAKE DOWN TABLES AND CHAIRS Medium Priority

Take down 6' tables, 2 chairs, and remove tablecloths (and store in bins) for each booth after the race

PACK PETPROMISE BOOTH High Priority

Details

Pack neatly pack all items for the PetPromise booth sorting by PetPromise promotional materials and merchandise (which should be sorted, organized, and packed in categories in boxes bags and bins.)

TENT TAKE DOWN High Priority

In groups of four, take down the 10X10 tents after the race and take to truck for loading.

LOAD TRUCK Medium Priority

Details

Load truck with tents, tables, chairs, bins, pools, buckets, etc. to be returned to storage.
