Hurt Fire Department 5k

Packet Pickup- Packets can be picked up at the Town of Hurt office located at 533 Pocket Road, Hurt, VA. on Friday, May 24, from 9 am – 5pm. and on race day prior to the race at packet pickup.

Parking: New Prospect Baptist Church, on street parking on Prospect Road, Hurt Elementary School

The race will begin promptly at 8:00 am, May 25, 2019. All participants are encouraged to arrive by 7:45 am since Prospect Road will be closed at the intersection of Longview Road and Prospect Road and also at the intersection of East/West Spencer and Prospect Road. All runners/walkers should be there and register no later than 7:45 am the day of the race. 5K entry fees are non-refundable. T-shirts are guaranteed to the first 100 participants.

5K Race Description: The 5K begins in front of New Prospect Baptist Church on Prospect Road and follows a mostly flat course with slight declines and inclines through the rural Town of Hurt. The course route is Prospect Road going north to the intersection of East/West Hurt Road. At the intersection of East/West Hurt Road the course will make a U-turn continuing back south on Prospect Road towards New Prospect Church. Before getting to New Prospect Church the course will turn West onto School Road and go towards Lynn Street. At the intersection of Lynn Street and School Road the race will make another U-turn continuing back east on School Road towards Prospect Road. At the intersection of School Road and Prospect Road the course will continue back south on Prospect Road and end back in front of New Prospect Church.
