31st Annual Dr. John A. Stephenson Memorial Youth Run

Join area youth runners of all ages for the 31st Annual Dr. John A. Stephenson Memorial Youth Run presented by the Lynchburg Road Runners. Dr. Stephenson was one of the founding pediatricians of Richeson Drive Pediatrics.  Now Lynchburg Pediatrics.  He promoted healthy children and being active outside.  When he died at a young age a memorial race was started to honor his passion for promoting healthy lifestyles.

Race distances and courses are....3 & under 1/8th mile, 4-5 yrs old 1/4 mile, 6-7 yrs. old 1/2 mile, 8-13 yrs. old 1 mile. All events take place at Riverside Park, Rivermont Ave., Lynchburg, Virginia. Proceeds benefit the Lynchburg Road Runners Club a 501c3 non-profit whose mission remains to promote community health and wellness through the sport of running.  

COURSES: Gently rolling courses (closed to traffic) winding through historic, Riverside Park (2270 Rivermont Avenue, Lynchburg, VA  24503).

AGE GROUPS (boys & girls): 3-under (1/8 mi); 4-5 (1/4 mi); 6-7 (1/2 mi); 8-9 (1 mi); 10-11 (1 mi); 12-13 (1 mi)

Lynchburg Road Runners Club Member Discount: 
A $3.00 discount is available to current Lynchburg Road Runners Club members. Discounts will not be given after Monday October 2nd. Participant membership must be current with the LRRC membership roster found on RunSignUp on race day. Discount will be given at checkout automatically. Refunds and discounts will not be given after completing online race registration.

T-SHIRTS:  Participants registered by Monday September 25th are guaranteed a t-shirt. Extras are available on a first-come basis at packet pickup.

AWARDS:
All Finishers receive a commemorative "FINISHER  AWARD"
Top 3 overall boys and girls for the 1 mile distance (all races combined) and the top 3 boys and girls in race; trophies and a book to all finishers. 

PARKING: Riverside Park, closed to ALL vehicular traffic (9AM to 10:45AM). Please park on Rivermont Ave.

PACKET PICK UP: Fri. Oct. 13th at Riverside Runners from 12PM-6PM and race day 8-8:45AM, Riverside Park.

ENTRY LIMIT: 50 participants per gender per age group.

STROLLERS & PETS PROHIBITED, REGISTRATION IS NON-REFUNDABLE & NON-TRANSFERABLE
